I am so happy I could take pictures for the Melin Family again. I first met them last fall when Sarah booked one of my September Mini Sessions. It's a funny story actually because on the morning of our session Sarah found out she was pregnant! She asked if I could help surprise Scott with the news... Which resulted in a joking reply of "Oh No!" and a bit of hilarious confusion for a moment. It's definitely still one of my favorite session memories & stories to tell.
But now sweet Linnea is here and I'm so happy I could capture new photos for them as a Family of 5! This time we decided to do Linnea's session entirely outside at their house. Which turned out amazing because of their beautiful wooded backyard that gave us a lot of shade. The warmth allowed Linnea to sleep the entire time and her older brother & sister were able to get their wiggles out and then head back inside for lunch. Which is one of the reasons I love shooting newborn sessions at client's homes - it allows older siblings to run off and play once their pictures are done.
While we took a lot of photos of Linnea in her parents arms and on my crochet blanket, Scott asked if we could pose her on a large tree stump in their backyard that was surrounded by new growth. I loved the idea and her pictures are some of the most unique newborn shots I've ever taken. If you have a baby due in the summer or even early fall please message me, I would love to try this all outdoor approach again.
